Today Iâm going to tell you about five worthwhile books for entrepreneurs to read. These are all books that have really helped shape my career thus far, so I want to share them with you.
- The Hard Thing about Hard Things by Ben Horowitz [01:20]
- This book has been recommended in the Growth Everywhere interviews 17 times. The book itself is a series of stories about the struggles of the game of entrepreneurship. From working at Netscape to a company that sold for $1.5 billion to HP, Ben Horowitz had to face a lot of different issues. He talks about powering through when you feel like giving up and responding to adversity.
- The Billionaire Who Wasnât by Conor O’Clery [03:11]
- This book was recommended by Rand Fishkin. Itâs by the guy who founded the duty-free shopping centers at airports. He was a very aggressive entrepreneur, but after he made it, he figured out how to start donating to worthwhile causes around the world. He kept it very low-key, but ended up donating billions of dollars, which is very inspiring.
- The One Thing by Gary Keller [05:26]
- This book tells you how to prioritize. It helps you pick one thing to focus on for the year, month, week or day, rather than getting distracted by a huge laundry list of things to do.
- Influence by Rob Cialdini [07:04]
- This book teaches you a lot about human psychology, such as the anchoring technique for marketing. Thereâs a lot of research behind this book to help sales and marketing executives.
- The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing by Dan Kennedy [07:57]
- Things change over time, but thereâs always immutable laws for whatever niche youâre working in. This book is great for marketers and startup founders.
